The Odu is the foundation of the Ifá divination system. It consists of patterns that represent different energy signatures, life lessons, and roadmaps. When you receive an Ifá reading, the Odu that comes out is the specific lens through which your guidance is revealed.

Each Odu contains wisdom about how life unfolds, along with lessons that reflect the human condition. These teachings are often conveyed through historical narratives, parables, and verses that have been passed down through generations.

Some Odu include  meant to keep you in alignment with your destiny. Others include warnings, which are advisory messages about potential dangers or disruptions. Both are designed to guide you. But taboos usually involve long-term or life-long practices, while warnings tend to be situational or time-sensitive.
